Subodh Chandra Subedi

I am a passionate mechanical engineering researcher with a strong background in Additive manufacturing, CAD, FEA, and Topology Optimization. I am experienced in DFM, failure analysis, design optimization, GD&T, and Solid modeling. I have worked as an engineer in design, manufacturing, and installation and testing of heavy equipment for energy applications. I am a fast learner, strong communicator, collaborator, and an organized, analytical, and reliable mechanical engineer.
I graduated with my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I worked with Prof. Krishnan Suresh at the Engineering Representations and Simulation Lab and Prof.Dan Thoma at the Alloy Design and Development Laboratories for my PhD. I worked extensively on CAD recovery for Topology Optimization using computational geometry and advanced CAD modeling for the initial years of my PhD program. However, my PhD research was at the intersection of numerical simulations and experimental verifications on design for additive manufacturing. I designed and optimized novel truss-type support structures that minimize thermal and structural part deformations in Laser Powder Bed Fusion-based metal Additive Manufacturing.
